La Strada HQ: Europe Type: coalition/policy Focus: general Scope: international The International La Strada Association is a network of eight independent human rights NGOs (Non-Governmental Organisations) in Belarus, Bulgaria, the Czech Republic, the former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia, Moldova, the Netherlands, Poland and Ukraine. The membership of La Strada Bosnia and Herzegovina is currently frozen, since May 1, 2010 for a period of two years. It aims to prevent trafficking in human beings, with a focus on women in Central and Eastern Europe. Theprimary goal is to improve the position of women and to promote their universal rights, including the right to choose to emigrate and work abroad and to be protected from violence and abuse.
