Verite

"Verité's mission is to ensure that people around the world work under safe, fair and legal conditions.

Forced Labor
"Verité has launched a program to collect reliable data on and address the root causes of exploitive and forced labor in eight countries in Latin America, Asia, and Africa. This program leverages Verité's ten-plus years of experience in researching and solving workplace human rights violations in multinational supply chains. Launched with a generous grant from the United States Department of Labor, this initiative will enable Verité to illuminate the causes of forced labor in several sectors, and identify solutions for adoption by governments, businesses, and non-governmental organizations.

"The Verité program begins with in-depth research to examine the scope and causes of forced labor in the supply chains of both manufactured goods and natural resource commodities in eight countries. By uncovering the mechanisms by which people are coerced into and held in forced labor, the program will identify steps for implementation by governments, international organizations, and local and multinational companies that can resolve problems to the benefit of millions of workers around the world.

Workplace Assessment & Performance Improvement
"Verité is recognized as a leader in the field of social responsibility for our innovative approaches to helping companies, workers, governments and NGOs understand and overcome the obstacles to achieving just work in the global economy. Verité pioneered a social auditing model that integrates workers as a key stakeholder to effectively monitor labor conditions. We build critical competencies at all levels of the supply chain with our training programs. Our programs focus on the root causes of non-compliance and the knowledge, skill and systems needed to resolve them."
