Find out if my state has an anti-trafficking law
Every state in the U.S. needs an anti-trafficking law that mirrors our federal legislation. Why? Because without a state law in place, only federal authorities can respond - your local police don't have the authority they need to act on a trafficking case. Click the link below to learn whether or not your state has enacted an anti-trafficking law:

Travel only with responsible companies
Each time you travel, you can make a huge difference by using only travel and tourism companies that have signed The CODE.

The CODE OF CONDUCT FOR THE PROTECTION OF CHILDREN FROM SEXUAL EXPLOITATION IN TRAVEL AND TOURISM is an industry-driven responsible tourism initiative in collaboration with ECPAT International, funded by UNICEF and supported by the UNWTO.

Suppliers of tourism services adopting The CODE commit themselves to implement the following six criteria:

1. To establish an ethical policy regarding commercial sexual exploitation of children.

2. To train the personnel in the country of origin and travel destinations.

3. To introduce a clause in contracts with suppliers, stating a common repudiation of commercial sexual exploitation of children.

4. To provide information to travellers by means of catalogues, brochures, in-flight films, ticket-slips, home pages, etc.

5. To provide information to local "key persons" at the destinations.

6. To report annually.

Find out if my company’s products are Fair Trade certified
If your company is involved with agricultural products, you can find out if they are fair trade certified.

"Fair Trade certification is a market-based model of international trade that benefits over one million farmers and farm workers in 58 developing countries across Africa, Asia and Latin America. Fair Trade certification enables consumers to vote for a better world with their dollars, simply by looking for the Fair Trade Certified label on the products they buy.

"Fair Trade Certified agricultural products including coffee, tea and herbs, cocoa and chocolate, fresh fruit, sugar, rice, flowers, honey and spices (vanilla) are currently available at over 35,000 retail establishments in the U.S.

"Fair Trade empowers farmers and farm workers to lift themselves out of poverty by developing the business skills necessary to compete in the global marketplace. By guaranteeing minimum floor prices and social premiums, Fair Trade enables producers to invest in their farms and communities and protect the environment. But Fair Trade is much more than a fair price."
